- Comment: since writing ALT0 I have turned this into a double nomination, so unless something is wrong with the other hooks, that one should not be chosen.

- Both articles long enough and new enough. No neutrality issues found, no maintenance templates found, no valid copyright concerns. All four hooks cited, short enough, and interesting, though ALT3 more so. QPQs done. Good to go. @Maxwell King123321: Please catch the nomination above. You are welcome to share alternative hooks, but please note that Rolling Stone and Entertainment Weekly made connections between the songs, "FROM THE SINGER who brought us “Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl” comes “Can’t Catch Me Now” — a new song written and recorded by Olivia Rodrigo for the forthcoming Hunger Games prequel, The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes" and "From "ballad of a homeschooled girl" to Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes". Thank you.--NØ 11:37, 28 November 2023 (UTC)
- @MaranoFan: Instead of edit-warring, please discuss your proposed changes to the page here. How relevant is "The Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl" to the topic? As I stated in an earlier revert, as per WP:NOTEVERYTHING "Information should not be included in this encyclopedia solely because it is true or useful". The section doesn't need another hook as in this case, the impending release of the song and announcements is a hook in itself. The "Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl" has no relevance to this song and both the Rolling Stones and Entertainment Weekly sources you have put forward use it in an entertaining manner as they are journalism pieces. Neither of them use it in a way to say that is important or to say it is relevant to this song. So, why are you trying to put it here? Quite frankly, nothing of Rodrigo's previous works needs to be mentioned here - UNLESS it was directly influenced and / or apart of it. Maxwell King123321 11:51, 28 November 2023 (UTC)
- Rodrigo's full-length studio album released just two months earlier, which featured the same collaborator (Dan Nigro) on every track, is obviously worthy of inclusion in the "Background" section and relevant to the creative process. There is really no valid argument against it (I suggest you check out the Background sections of song articles designated as high quality). As for "Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl", it is present because of the entertaining manner you speak about. To form an interesting DYK hook. No text currently in the article is implying a lyrical or thematic connection between the two songs.--NØ 11:56, 28 November 2023 (UTC)
- As per WP:DYKHOOK, Hooks should "avoid sensationalism" which is to provoke public interest or excitement, at the expense of accuracy. "Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl" is a song from GUTS and has been used for "entertainment" purposes in the original sources. Therefore, its use as a hook is 'sensational', superfluous and not needed. Upon reflection of the policies, the release of GUTS should be the only thing mentioned. Maxwell King123321 12:37, 28 November 2023 (UTC)
- WP:DYKHOOK says that hook facts should be verifiable, unlikely to change, and not focus on negative aspects of living people. Rodrigo releasing both of these songs does not go against any of those things. It's an uncontroversial hook, and your issue seems to be about relevance, which is not discussed in that guideline. You seem to not like it, but mainstream sources did mention the release of "Homeschooled Girl" in the context of their reportage of "Can't Catch Me Now"'s release. This is a subjective matter so we will wait for a third opinion. Since the information is reliably sourced and included in the article since the day it was created, you would be strongly advised not to edit war to remove it until then.--NØ 15:36, 28 November 2023 (UTC)
